Learn to up-cycle household textiles into something unique and original, by making a Kimono style bath robe or dressing gown from a tablecloth or Duvet cover. If you prefer to buy fabric for this, that is also fine, more info on types of suitable fabric will be provided. Classes are suitable for Intermediate level sewists, but beginners with some sewing machine experience are welcome. You will learn how to make patch pockets and do French Seams, for a beautifully finished unlined garment.
You will need to bring fabric of your choice and matching sew-all thread, plus your basic sewing kit of scissors, pins etc, but we will provide a selection of equipment and patterns.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
Booking essential as places are limited as we have 6 sewing machines kindly donated by Whitstable and Herne Bay Rotary.
