Whitstable resident Dr Julia King has spent much of her career researching and designing community infrastructure to improve lives all around the world. In 2023, working with local campaign group SOS Whitstable, she was granted funding to consider a series of design interventions along the North Kent Coast that could not only decrease sewage pollution, but also create new community infrastructure, improving access and providing solutions to this complex issue.

Whilst our local population continues to grow with multiple new housing developments on the horizon, and extreme weather events becoming more common, come and spend an evening with Julia and the SOS Whitstable team at the Horsebridge Centre, and learn more about her design research, and explore her proposed solutions at four different places from Tankerton to Margate.
