From 1942-45 the German Luftwaffe and the US Eighth Air Force would fight the longest continuous battle of World War 2. It was a battle unlike any that had ever been fought before or would ever be fought again. At stake was the liberation of Occupied Europe and the defeat of Nazism– but the outcome was in no way pre-determined. This is the story of that battle.
