'Resurface' is a collection of black and white images taken from photographer Andy Watts' unique perspective as a person with a visual impairment.

The images convey his view of life as he first ventured back into photography and using a camera as part of his  therapy following a stroke.

Andy wants to show how he has adapted to life with a sight defect and show the audience how he now sees the world and promotes the mindset that people suffering from a brain injury or sight impairment should not be held back by these challenges.

Photography has provided Andy with a safe space to process his experience, express his emotions and communicate his story. Through capturing images that reflect his journey of recovery, Andy has channeled his pain, resilience and hope into tangible forms of art.

In 2024 Andy will be collaborating with the Horsebridge to continue to raise awareness of stroke, brain injury and visual impairment. Using photography to show people the power of creativity after trauma.
