Researched and crafted during an artist-in-residency programme with The Horsebridge, this body of work reimagines the Roman mythology of Salacia, the goddess of salt water. Set in a contemporary Whitstable and inspired by gothic ghost stories, ink and watercolour illustrations combined with poetic storytelling weave a narrative around the gallery space exploring themes of feminism, mythology and natural mysticism.

Hannah McDonald, is a British illustrator living in Amsterdam. She tells stories through different mediums, inspired by the natural world and moments of solitude. Her book The Book of Moons and Seasons was published with Liminal 11 in 2022.
