Canterbury Society of Art

  • Closes: 29 November 2021
  • Where: Gallery 1

Canterbury Society of Art began in 1968 and the recent unprecedented times have brought about new challenges in its history. However, it has come out the other side with new and existing members producing a wide variety of thought-provoking work for this exhibition.

Unable to attend usual weekly meetings, the Society set monthly lockdown challenges in order to keep everyone in touch giving them the opportunity to share their work. These proved very popular helping to bring together ideas, purpose and inspiration.

These challenges are displayed on the Society’s website along with more information about the group. With members having more time to appreciate the world around them in recent months, the Society hopes to reflect these special moments in time through the work on show depicting a wide range of styles, mediums, people and places.
