Sky Light: the Lightness and Darkness

Deborah’s aim while painting is to capture the evening light, particularly the pink glow at sunset. This has

evolved into a series called ‘Hot Pink Crush’. By painting layer over layer, she is emulating cloud formations. Clouds appear when there is too much water vapour for the air to hold. The water vapour, which can appear as a gas, then condenses to form tiny liquid droplets, and it is the water that makes the clouds visible. These droplets are so small that they stay suspended in the air. Wanting to portray the life these clouds have, their silent, transient and impermanent time.

Nick favors slow exposure photography, particularly at evening light time. Capturing the sky and tidal sea changes of Margate, Kent.
