With Debbie Swann of Cygnini Crafts

In this workshop we will create felt holly leaves, stitched with a contrasting thread and then use them to create a wreath that can be used as a candle mat or under a bowl of treats! Each leaf is cut by hand either with a template or freehand if you prefer! Debbie will show you how to use three different, but simple embroidery stitches to achieve the effect you want – running stitch, backstitch and chain stitch. You will then be able to alternate these as you wish, or stick to one. The leaves will be stuck onto a circular felt disc, the size of a large jar lid. Debbie will explain how you can make a candle holder for wax candles from the lid of a large jar to complete your project.

The course will be on Friday morning 3rd December from 10am – 12noon

All equipment and materials, as well as tea and coffee, will be provided and the course is free although donations are welcome.

These workshops are part of a programme of Creative Workshops run by the Horsebridge supported by a great community of local artists and teachers.  The workshops take place in our large, light and airy Studio and our aim is that each session will give people the confidence to try a new skill and take part in creative and enjoyable activities as part of new group. The sessions are a mix of pay what you can drop-in activities and ticketed workshops.
