70 Years in the making
Our jubilee celebrations created a Tea party with a twist and a 1950s living room, with the outside of the building decorated with huge blooms made as part of our People's Flower Project. The community helped us craft all the different parts of a classic British tea party - from knitted sandwiches to table decorations, felted biscuits to commemorative tableware, we made it all!
Treasure on the Terrace
For 3 weeks over the 2021 summer holidays, children and their families joined us in our new Studio for an undersea adventure to help us build the bottom of the ocean up on our terrace, in a series of art and craft workshops designed especially for young sea explorers.

In The Process of Knitting A Netting (2021)

YDM Summer Sessions 2021
A programme of creative digital workshops for young people aged 8 - 16.
After a difficult year for young people we gave them an opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence and share their personal experiences of the pandemic through art. The work created by participants features in an exhibition in September 2021 and all sessions were fully funded and free.
Connection In Isolation
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we worked with the community to connect and share acivities with the hope of keeping us all connected and less isolated.
Art Auction 2019
While grant funding helps run much of our project work, ensuring we can keep the centre open and activities open to all relies on fundraising. In 2019 we ran our first art auction that was both in the centre and online for bidding.
Please see all the artwork that was auctioned thanks to the generosity of artists and donors.
