Art Bank

The Horsebridge Art Bank launched on Monday 11th October.

The Art Bank is open on Mondays between 2-4 pm every fortnight (excluding public holidays).

This is a new initiative that we have developed in partnership with Whitstable artist Catriona Campbell. We have been collecting unwanted arts and crafts materials (and books) and will offer these on a “pay what you can basis”. We also will use some of the materials in free, or affordable, creative sessions for adults and children.

Some particularly high value items will be priced, like unopened oil paint sets, however all money raised will be ring-fenced for the Art Bank, to buy more materials and to enable us to offer “pay what you can” artist led workshops, to show people how to use the arts and crafts materials.

Catriona instigated the Art Bank after realising that many people want to be creative but don’t always have the means to do so. It’s also very important to us at the Horsebridge that no-one is excluded from being able to access and use art materials. We know how important being creative is for people’s well-being, particularly in these challenging times. The Art Bank is also an important part of supporting environmental responsibility by ensuring that more materials are re-used and not thrown away.

We have already received some fantastic donations but welcome more! If you, or anyone you know, wish to donate art or craft materials (including art books) donations can be dropped at the Horsebridge reception during opening hours.
