Realising that many people want to be creative but don’t always have the means to do so, we created Whitstable's first ART BANK, a huge collection of donated and pre-loved art and craft materials and books that are available to all on a pay what you can basis.
Over the past few months we have received so many generous donations from the local community that we have built up a huge amount of embriodery materials, so are holding a special pop-up soft crafts shop in Gallery 2.
We have:
Fabric I wool I thread I cotton I buttons I books I needles I magazines I patterns I frames and so much more!
You can call in anytime to take what you need and just pay what you can.
Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm.
It is very important to us at the Horsebridge that no-one is excluded from being able to access and use art materials as we know how important being creative is for people’s well-being.
You can find our permanent ARTbank on the ground floor, which is full of arts and crafts materials and books, it is free to access and everything is avilable on a donation basis if you are able.
