Studio Sessions: Still life oil painting with Gaven Alexander

Led by artist Gaven Alexander, learn the fundamentals of still life painting using oils. 

In each session you will learn about setting up your composition, capturing light and glazing to create depth in your artwork as well as how to get the best out of using oil paint as a medium. 

All materials are provided, but you are invited to bring along an item or items of your choice to study. Gaven will also bring a selection of objects if you prefer. 

Gaven works at a pace to suit the class so is suitable for both those starting on their painting journey or someone with more experience, enabling you to create a still life painting (or maybe two) of something you can be proud of.

Each session takes place once a month, to allow for full drying time between layers of paint.

Gaven has painted himself for over 30 years and has shown work in leading galleries in Kent, so has lots of experience to help guide you on artistic your journey and says "I'll looking forward to meeting you, It'll be fun, and you'll learn a new skill you didn't know you had in you."
