Christmas Wishes from the young to the elderly in Whitstable this Christmas.
Join this card making workshop where the extremely talented Kate from Peggy & Kate will teach you how to paint a Christmas shape and then use your imagination to decorate the cards in any colour, with any materials and in any technique you like. Write your Christmas wish inside and prepare the cards to be delivered to the elderly community in a care home in Whitstable.
This is a Children for Community initiative where the children in our community volunteer their time, their creativity and their charitable souls to do good, this time to bring joy and a drop of magic to an elderly person in a care home. Our mission is to provide opportunities for children and their families to volunteer together, no matter the age, ability or financial possibility. Recommended age 4-11 years.
This is a FREE event, accessible for all. All the materials are provided but a donation is very welcome.
The children will get to keep one of the cards whilst all the others will be delivered to a care home in Whitstable at a later date so they can gift it to someone special in their life, send it to Father Christmas or keep it as the masterpiece that it is.
Kate, who leads the workshop and is an amazingly talented local artist, will have her cards for sale if the parents want to do any Christmas shopping.
