Extraordinary Places Antartica
During January and February 2023 the Young Makers travelled to extraordinary places in Antartica. They discovered the landscape and animals of the Antarctic and the challenges that they face. They created a big mural artwork in collaboration with our volunteer group to share with The Horsebridge community what they learned.
The Horsebridge Young Makers Club is an informal weekly after-school club where young people can learn about different mediums and explore their own art style. There is a different topic each week with an art or craft project to make and take home.
Young Makers Club Sessions can get messy so please make sure that your little artist is wearing something that is ok to get messy in.
Young Makers Club are drop-off sessions. For safeguarding reasons and room space, we ask that only children aged 6-11 attend sessions. We have a gallery space and shop on our ground floor that parents and guardians can explore while children are in the session.
Our sessions offer an inclusive space for young people with disabilities, learning differences and mental health needs and are delivered by experienced staff. If you would like to discuss how we can accommodate your child's needs please email us.
For ages 6 - 11.
Suggested donation £5 per child but please pay what you are able to.

Discovering the Antarctic

In this session we will research the Antarctic landscape and animals and start to plan a big mural for The Studio.

Creation Session
Antarctic Birds
4pm to 5pm
In this session will be making art work of magnificent birds that live in the Antarctic.
2 February
Creation Session
Antarctic Recycled Sea Animals
4pm to 5pm
In this session we will be using recycled materials to create dazzling sea creatures.
9 February
Creation Session
Antarctic Land Animals
4pm to 5pm
In this session we will be making artwork inspired by some of Antarctica's land animals.
16 February
HALF TERM - Puppet Making
2pm to 3pm (please note time is different to usual)
Make puppets inspired by animals living in the extraordinary place of the Antarctic. Take inspiration from our Antarctic mural in The Studio.
