Stephen Banister is a Kent-based artist and architect presenting a focused exhibition of contemporary landscape fine art prints inspired by the coastal and structural landscapes of Kent. His work explores the relationship between light, atmosphere and underlying form, balancing strong linear structure with restrained tonal depth.
Stephen Banister’s practice is shaped by sustained time spent across Kent’s coastal landscapes - returning to familiar harbour and shoreline environments to observe how light, weather and structure shift over time.
This exhibition brings together a focused selection of fine art prints developed from that ongoing engagement with the North Kent coast. Strong horizon lines and linear frameworks reference harbour structures and built shoreline, balanced by open atmospheric space and tonal restraint.
Layered blues and muted neutrals establish weight and clarity, while visible mark-making reflects an underlying architectural methodology. Positioned between abstraction and landscape, the work prioritises balance and compositional discipline intended to live calmly within a space rather than demand attention.
