We need to say a big thank you to visitors, friends, artists and bidders for a wonderful fundraising art auction. We were thrilled to raise over £6,000 which took us 75% towards fulfilling our fundraising shortfall for the last year. This has helped us to keep The Horsebridge's doors open and we couldn't have done it without you.
Importantly though we couldn’t have done it without extreme effort from a very small team of staff and incredible volunteers who made it possible. It is safe to say that without the time volunteered the auction just couldn’t happen.
The exhibition was such a joy to explore because of the skill and dedication of our Artistic Director, Hannah. As always going above and beyond to ensure that every donated piece of artwork was presented at its best, curated beautifully together in the galleries and working closely with the donors to ensure we had accurate information for visitors to see.
One single volunteer managed the online auction. We had no budget for sophisticated tech so every time someone made a bid online or in the centre behind the scenes that volunteer was manually updating the website. Volunteering all through the final weekend, including when the website crashed on Sunday evening and working with the team to quickly put something in place for those disappointed by not being able to place a final bid, was really going beyond anything we imagined.
All of the social media including the gallery tour reels, images and all of the marketing materials online and around the centre was carried out by a volunteer. Designing the posts across all our channels, all the stories, linking into artists and trying to ensure all the artwork got great coverage was such a vital part of the success of the auction.
As always our wonderful volunteers and the entire staff team worked so brilliantly together from handling donations as they were delivered and greeting every visitor who came to see the auction through to ensuring the art pieces all safely made it to their new homes.
Thank you all for supporting us and helping us to ensure that everybody can experience creativity all year round.
