‘If music be the food of love, play on’

'When Viola washes up on the shore of Illyria she decides to disguise herself as a man ‘Cisario’ and become a servant to the Duke Orsino, who she falls madly in love with (because its a Shakespeare play, just go with it) but his love is for the Local Countess Olivia (oh no!).
When Olivia meets Cisario chaos ensues - If you think that's a mess you haven’t seen anything yet! Mischievous drunkards, a yellow stocking wearing servant and many cases of mistaken identity!
Laughs guaranteed:` Twelfth Night’, one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies, comes to the Horsebridge in Whitstable
Brought to life by local theatre company ‘Constant Lark’, Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’ is a heady mix of comedy and pathos as it explores themes of mistaken identity, unrequited love and ambition. ‘Constant Lark’ will give three performances at Whitstable’s Horsebridge Centre on Saturday 26th October at 2.00pm, 5.00pm and 7.30pm.
Each performance will last for approximately one hour so the audience is guaranteed much fast-paced fooling. In addition for the evening performance on Saturday there will be bar and a DJ playing in the space.
Brendan Roberts, actor and founding Director of the Constant Lark Theatre Company, and who has adapted the play said: “We love a good comedy and we can promise our audience many ‘laugh out loud’ moments with ‘Twelfth Night’. With lines such as ‘If music be the food of love, play on’ and `Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon 'em’ you immediately know that ‘Twelfth Night’ is one of Shakespeare’s classic comedies.”
It all starts when Viola washes up on the shore of an island called Illyria, and thinking that her twin brother is dead, she decides to disguise herself as a man (Cisario) and become a servant to the Duke Orsino, whom she falls madly in love with. Unfortunately Duke Orsino is madly in love with someone else – the local Countess Olivia. But when Olivia meets Cisario, yes you’ve guessed it, chaos ensues.
The plot continues to get even messier and the introduction of some unforgettable characters such as a yellow stocking-wearing servant ensures that `Constant Lark’ will have you laughing out loud.
