For young performers aged 12–15 years.

Do you love to sing, dance and act? Want to develop your performance skills and become a more confident performer?

Our Musical Theatre class for ages 12–15 gives young performers the opportunity to explore all three disciplines of musical theatre - acting, singing and dancing - while developing their technique, confidence and performance skills.

Each week, students will take part in a 90-minute session designed to challenge and inspire them, working both individually and as part of an ensemble.

Our 3-Term structure

Our classes follow a 3-term structure, allowing students to develop their skills throughout the year while working towards exciting performance opportunities.

Autumn Term: Skills & technique

The Autumn Term focuses on building strong foundations across acting, singing and dance.

Students will work on:

- Acting technique and character development

- Vocal technique and singing confidence

- Dance technique, movement and musicality

- Performance skills and stage presence

- Working as an ensemble

- Building confidence and self-expression

Spring Term: Performance & routines

In the Spring Term, students will begin putting their skills into practice through scenes, songs and choreography.

Students will develop longer pieces of work, learning how to bring characters and musical numbers to life while continuing to develop their individual performance skills.

The term will culminate in an informal showcase for family and friends, giving students the opportunity to perform their scene work, songs and dances in front of an audience.

Summer Term: Whole-school variety show

The Summer Term is all about bringing everything together as we work towards TDA's whole-school variety show.

Students will rehearse a mixture of musical theatre numbers and scenes, working as a company towards a professional-style performance for a live audience.

Whether they are already confident performers or are looking to take their first steps onto the stage, students will be encouraged to challenge themselves, develop their skills and enjoy the experience of performing.

Students will have the opportunity to:

- Develop singing, acting and dance technique

- Build confidence and stage presence

- Improve vocal and physical performance skills

- Develop characterisation and storytelling

- Learn choreography and musical theatre routines

- Work collaboratively as part of an ensemble

- Explore different styles of musical theatre

- Develop creativity and self-expression

- Perform in front of an audience

- Make new friends and have fun!

Our aim is to create a positive, supportive and exciting environment where young people can develop their talents, build confidence and discover their own love of performing.

Whether your child dreams of performing professionally or simply loves musical theatre, this class provides a fantastic opportunity to sing, dance, act and shine.
