Oils Club is a social, learning group, set up to offer a place where people who want to learn more about working with oil paints and mediums can come together to experiment and produce their own paintings in our studio.
With guidance, advice and support from teacher and artist Gaven Alexander, they have developed their own personal skills and techniques and developed a lovely community of painters, who support and inspire each other month on month.
This exhibition is an opportunity to view the original paintings created by members of the clubs, which will all be for sale.

The aim of the Oils clubs are to provide inspiration and support for anyone wanting to work with oil paint, Gaven runs sessions fortnightly, alternating between Oils Club and a more tailored workshop; Still Life oils.
These monthly sessions are open to anyone who has always wanted to try oil painting, or, are already using oils but want to spend some time in the company of other oil painters, developing and continuing to learn how to get the most out of this medium.
Gaven will be on hand with advice, hints and tips to really help you gain confidence in using oils and can suggest small projects or subject matter to try painting if you are in need of some inspiration.
The workshops are held in our light and airy studio with all basic materials you will need to get you started included in the price, as well as refreshments available throughout the morning.
Gaven, who has been painting for over 30 years, has created a lovely relaxed atmosphere during his workshops, taking away any pressures from learning or developing a new skill, he is easy to talk to and open to any questions you may have enabling you to enjoy and push your painting forward with confidence.
New members are welcome, there is no monthly commitment and you can pick and choose the dates you can attend throughout the year, however we do recommend booking.
