Irene Southon has been fusing glass for over 10 years. Working from her garden studio, Irene creates a range of lovely homewars and artworks inspired by the Whitstable coastline. Her homewares include fused glass platters and coasters, and her art pieces often feature local scenes.  Irene regularly exhibits and sells her work through local galleries.

Lindsay Wilkinson has been handmaking felt for 14 years. Lindsay is fascinated by the ever-changing colours and patterns of the sea and estuary: many of her distinctive artworks feature water patterns based on her observation of the north Kent coastline. These works often include the birds she sees feeding along the shoreline such as oystercatchers, curlews, turnstones and little eagrets.  She also makes practical pieces like vases and glasses cases and more sculptural 3-dimensional works. Lindsay also offers limited edition photographs of local scenes.  Lindsay teaches wet-felting and sells her work through local galleries including Whitstable’s harbour market.

Irene and Lindsay are friends who met through their artwork and both live in Whitstable.
