Delivered by Graham Birrell (who presented the sell-out ‘A Very Whitstable Murder’ evenings at The Playhouse), this short course is aimed at all history lovers who would like to know more about the incredible town of Whitstable. Each week will take a theme to explore in depth, with topics including ‘Whitstable at War’, ‘Smuggling’, ‘Oysters’ and ‘The Flood of 1953’. Graham spent 25 years as a local teacher and lecturer, so brings huge experience in creating an enjoyable environment for learning – bring your thinking caps though, as this will be an interactive experience where everyone will be expected to become mini-historians for six weeks!
