Hope & Anchor Writing return to The Horsebridge 11 & 12 July! Join us for one or two days of writing, rambling & conversation.
Saturday, our focus will be how to get over the writing hump. Maybe you’re mid-novel and have lost sight of where to go next. Perhaps you’ve not written in a long time and need a bit of a jump start. On this first day of the retreat, we’ll plunge into writing exercises to help you realise your ideas, unstick what is stuck, and reinvigorate your creativity. Afterward, you might like to join us for a sundowner on the beach!
Sunday, we’ll spend the morning on Whitstable’s quirky lanes and rugged beaches, sharpening our skills of sensory observation and drawing inspiration from the environment. After lunch, we’ll meet back at The Horsebridge to transform the morning’s material into new work - alongside Hope & Anchor’s famous cake.
Feel free to attend just the Saturday (10 - 5) or just the Sunday (10 - 4) or treat yourself to both. This retreat is suitable for both beginner and more experienced writers.
Hope & Anchor Writing is Sarah Leipciger, Joanna Quinn, and Peggy Riley. When you join a Hope & Anchor retreat, you’ll be hosted by all three. We come to writing with a broad range of knowledge, taste and experience; this is one of the things that makes Hope & Anchor unique.
